Mammalian skull bones: from alisphenoid to zygomatic arch

This film introduces the various bones that make up the mammalian skull. It shows where each bone is located and discusses the function of the bone, such as the use of the sagittal crest for increased muscle attachment. The film makes use of a wide variety of skulls showing how each skull bone can be modified according to the diet and lifestyle of the species concerned. It also considers some of the unique characteristics that can be used to identify mammal species or families from their skulls.
