Becoming a Digital Scholar - Part 1c

The RCDS ‘Becoming a Digital Scholar’ programme is a series of introductory experiential workshops designed to get academics at any stage of their career interested and engaged with some of the most up to date digital and social mediums on the market.
The series has two key aims:
• Enhancing your individual researcher profile through digital mediums

• Helping you to disseminate your research further, wider and more effectively

Launch workshop - "Digital scholarship and the changing face of research"

Kicking off the ‘Becoming a Digital Academic’ programme, I explore the arguments around ‘why’ should the 21st Century PhD student, early-career or fully fledging academic consider using digital tools and social media. We will explore potential benefits, drawbacks and the multitude of options available to those wishing to learn more about these virtual mediums – and how going digital can often support and complement the more conventional, traditional routes of dissemination.
