From Theory to Practice: How internships can increase students’ employability and help universities attract more students
I am a Master's Graduate from Anglia Ruskin University who has completed an internship in FHSCE on the implementation of an innovation in practice assessment for student nurse. The transition from life as a student to the world of work is not always easy and can be difficult, especially if English is not your first language. After my graduation, I started looking for a marketing job in the UK and, after couple of months of searching, I realised that it would be better to search for an internship in order to gain work experience.
Generally, students’ expectations are different from that of employer (Coco, Truong, & Kaupins, 2013). This presentation looked at the advantages and disadvantages of internships, examining it from a personal perspective and the benefits for Anglia Ruskin of employing their recent graduates as interns.
